Today's Movie: Invictus
I’m not a big fan of Clint Eastwood movies, but I am a fan of Matt Damon and was hoping this movie would be pretty bad ass.  Unfortunately, that’s not the case.  I was hoping the film would be a Miracle/Invincible/Remember the Titans type sports movie with political undertones and a polished Oscar winning Eastwood style.  What I got was a really boring movie about an old, old, OLD...

Tonight's Movie: District 9
I was lucky enough to see this movie in the theatre and it was just as wonderful on my TV.  It’s a near perfect film from a first time director that’s absolutely intense from the first frame of the film to the last.  It’s easily in my Top 5 of the year and I truly hope it gets a Best Picture nomination from the Academy…but I won’t hold my breath…even with 10...

Yesterday's Movie: Up in the Air
It’s hard to go into a movie expecting it to be the best movie of the year, because instead of letting it be the film it is, it has to prove something to you.  Unfortunately, Up in the Air wasn’t the best film of the year for me.  I loved it, I loved watching it, and I would love to watch it again.  George Clooney is perfect in this film.  Jason Reitman is the master of tone.  He can...

Tonight's Movie: Duplicity
I gotta be honest…I didn’t have any desire to see this movie.  I love Clive Owen and thought the premise sounded cute, but I didn’t want to sit down and watch it.  But now that Julia Roberts has been nominated for a Golden Globe, I had to see it.  So now, I also gotta say…I LOVED it.  Duplicity is a dying breed.  A movie about adults, for adults, talking about adult...

Tonight's Movie: (500) Days of Summer
I’ve been meaning to see this movie since it came out.  I was a little worried because a lot friends told me despite the reviews, it’s actually not very good.  But I really enjoyed it.  JGL is wonderful as always and Zoe is the perfect heartless bitch so many of us encounter in our lives.  I thought the quirky elements of the film were fun and not over the top as well as the...

I'm writing my first feature
That’s right! Now that I’ve graduated from college and have my next film in the can, I’ve decided to spend the holidays writing my first feature length screenplay.  I don’t think this will be Reservoir Dogs or anything, but I think it could turn out pretty cool. I just really want to get this first one done so I can learn what it really takes to write a 90-120 page...

Tonight's Movie: State of Play
A really good political thriller.  I enjoyed every bit of it.  Ben Affleck was a little too intense at some points and there were a few “Newspaper’s are still relevant” monologues that were a bit over the top, but this movie was great.  Well shot, directed and acted.  And most surprisingly, Russell Crowe was tolerable.
