197/250: Drive Angry
I heard Drive Angry was awesome, but no one told me it would be this awesome!  This is the first film I’ve seen to have the tone of Planet Terror since Planet Terror.  Nicolas Cage is smoking a cigar, drinking a handle of Jack, having a gun fight all while he’s having sex.  Come on! Bad ass cars, guns, Satanic cults, Nicolas Cage with long blond hair, absolutely abysmal CGI, William...

196/250: Machete Maidens Unleashed
I hope Mark Hartley just keeps making these documentaries.  I was a big fan of Not Quite Hollywood and Machete Maidens Unleashed doesn’t disappoint.  If you’ve ever wanted to know about the crazy Fillipino grindhouse films of the 70s and 80s, this movie is for you.  They talk about everything from the Women in Cages films to Apocalypse Now to Weng Weng. What I love about...

195/250: The Burning
I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t know about The Burning until Mondo released that super awesome poster for it.  I didn’t want to buy the poster because I had never seen the film let alone heard of it.  But now I wish I had. The Burning is a classic summer camp slasher film full of promiscuous teenagers and an unseen killer set on a bloody path of revenge.  Modern day teen slasher...

The Pop Music Game
IF YOU ARE A MUSIC SNOB, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT READING THIS….OR MAYBE YOU SHOULD. I listen to a lot of “shitty pop music”  and I’m proud of it.  To me, it’s candy.  Not a Thanksgiving meal.  It’s fun, easy listening and it gets your fingers snapping.  But really, I listen to “piece of shit, garbage music” because I love playing the Pop Music...

194/250: Santa Baby 2
Having never seen Santa Baby I was worried I wouldn’t be able to catch up on the vast mythology of the Jenny McCarthy starring Christmas franchise.  But with a lot of concentration, I feel like I can accurately say I was able to get up to speed for Santa Baby 2: Christmas Maybe. This movie is exactly what you expect it to be: Perfect background noise while you’re wrapping presents...

“I don’t take anything for granted, and I appreciate everyone. And I think I can...”
– Derrick Rose after signing his 5-year $94 million dollar extension. For the next time someone tries to say the NBA is just a bunch of selfish divas. (via nbaoffseason)

I love Fanboys
10:00am - The Dark Knight Rises trailer is released online. 11:00am - “TDKR trailer is the most epic and awesome thing I have ever seen!!!!!!!” 12:00pm - “I don’t know about Bane’s voice in TDKR trailer.  Too hard to understand.  But the rest of the movie looks AMAZING!!!” 1:00pm - “Bane’s voice in TDKR is the stupidest bullshit I have ever...

193/250: The Help
Awwww….That’s just about all there is to say about The Help (insert Southern Belle accent here).  Even though I prefer seeing women get hacked up with chainsaws, I do love me a good female dramedy here and there.  The Help is a sweet movie full of strong female characters that deals with a really important period of American history.  Emma Stone is great as usual and Viola Davis will...

192/250: Lucky Christmas
NOTE: I couldn’t find a poster for Lucky Christmas so I used an image from the only other movie Elizabeth Berkley has been in. I love Lifetime Christmas Movies.  They’re so much fun.  Whether they are actually good or truly terrible, they provide a wonderful viewing experience while you’re getting shit done around your house.  Now I’ve seen my fair share of Lifetime...

191/250: Captain America
Now why can’t all super hero movies be like this one?  God damn this movie is fun from start to finish.  Chris Evans is a great leading man and I can’t wait to see him in the Avengers.  The action was cool, the comedy worked, and the love story was great.  True story, Annie cried her eyes out at the end of this movie.  I guess that means it worked for her too.

190/250: Crazy, Stupid, Love
Fortunately, this movie is not stupid.  In fact, I loved it.  One thing that really stood out was the length.  Piece of shit Rom-Coms are 90 minutes long, on the dot.  They are in, hit their beats and then they’re out.  Crazy, Stupid, Love is over two hours long.  That’s because it actually IS an ensemble film with something to say.  The characters are strong, the comedy is funny,...

189/250: Attack the Block
I’ve gotta be honest with you, I’m shocked I liked this movie.  That may surprise many of you who have already seen it.  This is probably one of your favorite movies of the year so why is it that I possibly wouldn’t like it?  Well, because all summer you and everyone else who saw this movie tweeted, facebooked, and screamed from the heavens “ATTACK THE BLOCK IS THE...
